LSU right fielder Dylan Crews, first baseman Tre’ Morgan and pitcher Will Hellmers were named 2021 Freshmen All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball magazine.

Crews entered the season one of the most highly touted prospects in the Major League draft before deciding to attend LSU. During his freshman season, he is hitting .361 with 16 doubles, 16 home runs, 40 RBIs, 62 runs scored and 12 stolen bases as he bounced around the leadoff, two-hole and three-hole spot this season.

During the NCAA Eugene Regional, he was on fire, hitting .476 (10-for-21) with two doubles, one triple, three home runs, four RBIs and six runs scored. He was part of the regional all-tournament team.

Morgan was also an instrumental part in the Tigers’ four-game elimination win streak.

On the season, Morgan hit .361 with 16 doubles, five home runs, 40 RBIs, 63 runs and 15 stolen bases, a team-high.

He tallied six hits in the Eugene Regional last weekend with three RBIs and thee runs. Morgan also played solid first base, coming up with a key catch late in the Central Connecticut State elimination game LSU won in extra innings.

The right-hander, Hellmers, rounds out the group as the only pitcher on the list.

He is currently 6-2 on the year with a 3.23 ERA and 35 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting .229 after an outstanding performance in the Eugene Regional.

He entered against Oregon Monday, striking out two batters in two scoreless innings, helping LSU move on to face Tennessee in the Super Regional Saturday.
