Ronald Louis Bankston, Sr. died on February 20, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1941, to the late Anna Vargo Bankston and Richard Edward Bankston.

Ronnie served as Parish Councilman for 28 years. He was also employed with Quad CAA for 35 years. Ronnie graduated from Hammond High and the University of Southern Mississippi.

If anyone needed help with anything, they knew Ronnie was ready, willing, and able. He will be missed by so many, especially his family whose love knew no bounds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian David Bankston.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret “Sweetpea” Bankston; sons, Bradley Christian Bankston (Amy) and Ronald “Scrap” Bankston, Jr. (Chelsea); granddaughter, Kylie Costanza; brothers, Richard Bankston (Margaret), Warren Bankston (Kelly); sister-in-law, Ann Bernardi; aunt and uncle, Fred and Aline Seal. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Highway 190 W., Hammond, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Rose Memorial Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
