Leonard Jerry Kinchen, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2020, in an accident doing what he loved best, clearing land. Jerry was a world traveler and a master sportsman, especially an avid turkey and deer hunter. He was also an Elder at Fountain of Life Church in Albany. Jerry was the president of the Tri Parish Wild Turkey Federation for over 25 years. He had a soft heart for the individuals and families of those suffering from addiction. Jerry was a one of kind man and will be truly missed by all. The only thing he loved and valued more than his family was his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sheila Gill Kinchen; son, Ward Kinchen; grandsons, Trapper Kinchen and Ross Kinchen; special daughter, Carla Foster; brothers, Orlin “Shorty” Rogers, J. Warren Kinchen; sisters, Mickie Huszar, Sallie Stewart, Lucy Kinchen. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sallie Starkey Kinchen; father and mother-in-law, Chester and Florence Gill; and nine brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Fountain of Life Church, 28972 S. Montpelier Rd., Albany, on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment to follow at Sallie Kinchen Cemetery.
