John Bradley McNeil, age 67, passed away in his home surrounded by family on July 12, 2021. He was born in Dubois, PA on April 12, 1954, and was a resident of Loranger, LA.

John graduated from high school in 1974 and went onto enlist in the military. He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army 101st Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, and Rangers.

He had over 20+ years as an electrician at Barnes Electric in New Orleans and was a member of IBEW Local 130. John loved LSU college baseball, the beach and he enjoyed birdwatching. He was a great BBQ pit master and cook. Two important accomplishments in John’s life were his family and his military service.

He will be greatly missed by all.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, June Farrugia McNeil; daughter, Emily McNeil Emrick (Jerod); sons, Kyle McNeil, Shane Patrick McNeil; sister, Cynthia Thomas; brothers, David McNeil, Timothy McNeil; grandchild, Elsie Anne McNeil.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Joyce McNeil; and a brother, Randall “Randy” McNeil.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 10 a.m. until noon, at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W, Hammond.
