Vehicles arrive early for Hazardous Household recycling

A line of vehicles met employees and volunteers arriving early Saturday for the Hammond Hazardous Household Waste recycling event at Zemurray Park.

The pandemic caused the annual event to be cancelled in 2020 so people had hazardous wastes they had been holding onto for two years.

Around the park's looping street were stations collecting old paint, old light bulbs, old elecronis and old tires.
