On Jan. 5, 2022, Hammond Police Department began investigating two shoplifting incidents at Walmart, 2799 W. Thomas St. The incidents involved the same two suspects and occurred Dec. 10 and Dec. 27, 2021.

The suspects were identified from security footage as a white female with reddish-brown hair and a white male with what appears to be dark hair and a tattoo on his left forearm.

Both suspects removed various items from their packaging, concealed the items on their persons and in Walmart bags, and then left the store without purchasing the items, which were valued in excess of $649, according to a police spokesperson.
