Toys donation

Judy Couvillion, community services chairman for the Hammond Kiwanis Club, left, accepts two large boxes of toys from Laurie Cardwell, manager of Dollar General Store No. 18968 on the Morris Road east of Hammond. Store employees had put the boxes near the entrance and asked that customers donate new, boxed toys for needy local children. The big boxes were filled to overflowing – an example of sincere caring by many local residents. Couvillion expressed appreciation on behalf of the club.
