Mrs. Sharon Philipson, a fourth grade teacher at Independence Leadership Academy, recently asked to help fund a class project.

As many were affected by Hurricane Ida, and the students are learning about hurricanes in their English/Reading Unit, the class will create a book based on their experience during the storm.

The students will write and illustrate the book using the publisher’s kit. The book will be published through School Mate Publishing Company, and each student will receive a copy of the book.

The class is so excited and thankful to the donors for fully funding their project, said also to the Assistant Principal Melanie Johnston.
