murder suspect

Robertson

Hammond Police are searching for an Independence man wanted for the murder and attempted murder of two Hammond residents.

Police believe that Taurus Robinson, 19, drove away from the scene of the crime in a silver or grey Chrysler 300 after he shot two victims on the 100 block of East Stanley Street. Both victims were transported to North Oaks Medical Center. Dewayne Hutton, 30, was pronounced dead on the scene and the second victim is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Police also say that Robinson has a warrant out for his arrest on a charge of accessory to attempted murder related to an incident that occurred on Nov. 26, 2020.

Anyone with any information regarding Robinson's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Corey Morse at 985-277-5758 or Morse_CM@hammond.org.
