Certified Craftsman Photographer Phillip Colwart is bringing his studio to the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 20 to update head shots for 2020.

Colwart said every portrait will be expertly posed and creatively crafted to make individuals look their best for uses such as social media, websites and marketing material. He will provide professional retouching, digital files and print releases.

Cadet of Year

Hammond Veterans Memorial American Legion and Auxiliary Post 05 recently recognized Brooke Walker as JROTC Cadet of the Year for her outstanding service in her school and community work. As a graduating senior, she belongs to JROTC, Just say No Club, FFA, DARE, High School choir and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She has worked on raising funds for Kidney Foundation, helped with veterans, senior citizen, food drive veterans home, and fed the needy.

University of Wyoming

Cory Macmenamin of Hammond made the 2020 spring semester Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman honor rolls at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming, by earning a 3.4 or better grade point average.

Bond Wroten Eye Clinics

Bond Wroten Eye Clinics welcome Dr. Julia Reimold, O.D., who has experience in adult primary care, pediatrics, contact lenses, vision therapy, and low vision. Her primary area of interest is in the treatment and management of ocular disease.

A native of Buchanan, Tennessee, she who earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and Lions Club International. She also participated in medical mission trips to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. Dr. Reimold completed clinical training at The Eye Center at Southern College of Optometry, Cool Springs Eye Care in Franklin, TN, and Memphis VAMC.

In her spare time, Dr. Reimold enjoys watching college football, refinishing furniture and spending time with her family.

Kicking off the fall semester on Aug. 19, Northshore Technical Community College reminds the public of its rich history of providing workforce training and academic pathways to regional universities for the greater Northshore region. There are at least 22 different certificate, technical diploma, and associate degree programs available such as diesel powered equipment, welding, criminal justice, information technology, maritime technology, pharmacy technician, and practical nursing.
