Ponchatoula’s celebration Krewe of Nizhoni will ride at noon next Saturday, Feb. 4.
The parade route will start in East Pine and continue through downtown Ponchatoula.
Pete Clark, local businessman and CEO of NPK rental and Allstate business owner will serve as grand marshal.
The krewe is comprised of educators, business owners, medical professionals, civic leaders and organizations. The krewe, whose name means “beautiful,” was organized by Paulette Walker as an avenue for businesses and organizations to celebrate their accomplishments.
The signature throw is a fleece blanket. Children receive toys and books from Akindelas Fraternity of Louisiana along the route.
This year the parade will include new riders and those from last year. The krewe is not limited to the number of members and invites others to join the organization.
For more information, contact the Krewe at 985-320-7795.
