Terrick and Venetria Johnson are opening Johnson’s Kitchen at 10250 Park Place.

For their grand opening celebration today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., they are offering a condensed menu.

The owners started serving hot food locally from their home west of Hammond last year and have seized the opportunity to expand into a restaurant building off Pumpkin Center Road.

The couple said their Dj fries, Chase wings, homemade Grace’s brownies and freshly squeezed Mal’s lemonade are named for their children. Johnson’s Kitchen is also known for Cajun crawfish bread.
