The next StoryWalk® is coming to Downtown Ponchatoula Nov. 20 and will feature Bob Raczka’s children’s book, “Fall Mixed Up.”

The Ponchatoula Branch Library and Ponchatoula’s Downtown Revitalization Program encourage families to stroll through the downtown to read pages of the book that will be posted in business windows from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Start your walk by checking in at the Ponchatoula branch in order to receive your walk map and a goody bag,” said Ellen John, manager of the Ponchatoula Branch Library.

“Registration is free, but required. Please include the number of children participating in your registration number. There is no need to register adults. Find registration link on the Tangipahoa Parish Library website,” she said.

In addition to the StoryWalk®, the Downtown Ponchatoula Revitalization Program and Follow Your Art will host their inaugural Art from the Heart: Young Artist Art Walk that day starting at 2 p.m.

“Our main focus for Art from the Heart is to give aspiring young artists a chance to showcase their work in a fun, new event that brings family, friends, and visitors alike to our sweet downtown!” said Mandy Mongrue, owner of Follow Your Art.

Artists from ages 5-17 will showcase their art throughout the shops in Downtown Ponchatoula, said Revitalization Program Director Faith Allen Peterson. Downtown businesses will also have live music, art stations and other activities inside or outside their shops.

The event was originally scheduled for August.
