Christmas service

for those in mourningFive pastors of different faiths will serve Dec. 21 in the annual Blue Christmas Service, a community worship service of loss and remembrance for anyone mourning the loss of a loved one.

The Ponchatoula Stephen Ministers and the Father Vander Heyden Knights of Columbus Council 4874 will host this second annual ecumenical service at the Ponchatoula Community Center, 300 N. Fifth St.

The doors will open at 5:45 p.m.; the service will begin at 6 p.m. Afterwards, there will be fellowship and a light meal. Seating is limited; please call (985) 687-4458 to reserve a seat.

“Now, more than ever, Blue Christmas is the time to come together as a community for each other and especially for the ones who are grieving,” said Richard Wallace, member of the organizing groups.
