Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center will host a wine-tasting Thursday, 5:30-9 p.m., to raise the funds for new equipment and give adults a chance to experience the exhibits.

See www.lcdcuncorked.eventbrite.com or you can buy tickets at the Discovery Center in person or by phone at (985) 340-9150.

“Uncorked” is a fun spin on wine tasting, said Executive Director Morgan Kavanaugh. This is how it works:

Buying one ticket for $30 includes an entire team of one, two or three people. Each team, no matter how many people are in it, will bring three bottles of the same wine.

One bottle will go to the prize table, and the other two will have their label hidden and will be placed in stations for the tasting. After the tasting, each person votes on their favorite wines.

Whoever brought the winning wine wins the prize wines!

Each person will receive a wine glass for tasting sponsored by Asset Builders by Ross Downing.

Also planned is a fun scavenger hunt during the event to enter a drawing for a wine cooler sponsored by Southland Steel Fabricators Inc.

The Red Tag Sale going on during this event which involve picking specific items to buy for the museum.

There will be light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
