This Starry November Night, the Hammond Regional Arts Center everybody to view the works of art by “The BROADS.”

Known as The Bayou Regional Order of Art Dames, this social circle of female artists has been interconnected through a shared love of the arts. They have been brought together again by co-curators Barbara Tardo and Denise Tullier-Holly, who are also BROADS members.

The group has grown to include professional women artists and art teachers of all ages. They continue to get together to feast, talk art and enjoy each other’s company.

“It’s a beautiful show that features many talented women in our local and regional area,” said arts center Media Coordinator Tara Bennett.

The exhibition features 30-plus female artists whose works have an interconnective theme of the bayous of Louisiana in a variety of mediums including paintings, sculpture, fiber arts and more.

At the open house tonight, the arts center will also have the Art-O-Mat restocked with new functional and decorate art pieces to add to your miniature art collection.

“The Art-O-Mat is full of unique, affordable art pieces that are great for stocking stuffers,” Bennett said.

The exhibition will remain on display through Dec. 16. The arts center is open to the public on Wednesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m.
