Lions’ ‘Q’ up for Butkus, Washington for All-America

Southeastern football’s national profile was enhanced Tuesday as linebacker Cqulin Hubert and cornerback Todd Washington each collected nationwide notices.

Hubert was one of 51 players named Monday to the 2013 Butkus Award Watch List by the Butkus Foundation. The award is given to the nation’s top collegiate linebacker and generally goes to an FBS player. But Hubert, a transfer from Texas Tech and a native of Houston, is one of only two players from the FCS level named to the list.
