Mayor Ragusa to undergo anger management

Posted: Friday, September 6, 2013 3:30 am

Independence Mayor Michael Ragusa will enter a pre-trial diversion program for charges stemming from August 2012 when he allegedly threatened a police officer after his son was pulled over for speeding.

The agreement, signed by Ragusa and Louisiana Assistant District Attorney Kurt Wall, requires the 74-year-old Ragusa to seek anger management counseling, write a public letter of apology to the officers involved, pay the Independence Police Department $250 to cover investigation costs and not be arrested through Oct. 1.
